Blog audio
Blog audio turns a published article into a short listen read in your own voice, so visitors can play it right on your website instead of reading. It is entirely opt-in, it costs a flat 8 credits per post, and it only ever happens when you ask for it. Site visitors can never start a generation and spend your credits.
What it is
Every article on your hosted website can carry an audio version: a single narrated recording of the post, produced in the same cloned voice you set up in TrueTone. Once it is ready, a small player appears on that post’s page on your live site, and readers can listen instead of reading.
Audio is generated on demand. You decide, per post, whether an article gets a spoken version, and TrueTone charges a flat, predictable price each time it produces one. There is no per-minute meter and no visitor-triggered cost. The recording is a single continuous file, so it sounds like one clean take rather than stitched-together clips. It reads the article itself, so what listeners hear matches what they would read, in your voice.
Because your website has no draft layer, a post is live the moment you publish it. Its audio version follows the same rule: as soon as generation finishes, the player is live for visitors.
The controls live in two places. On the Blog Management screen, under Website then Blog, a single switch turns automatic audio on or off for everything you publish going forward. On an individual article, opened from its Creations entry, an Audio version card lets you generate, replay, or retry the recording for just that post. The article’s card in Blog Management also carries a quiet audio line that tells you whether its audio is ready, still processing, or failed.
Who it is for
Loan officers who publish to their TrueTone website and want to give readers a way to listen, whether they are commuting, multitasking, or simply prefer audio. Sales, marketing, and support teams use this page to explain exactly how blog audio is priced, what it requires, and where it does and does not happen automatically.
What you need first
Blog audio is read in your own cloned voice, so you must record your voice in TrueTone before you can generate any. Until you do, the audio controls stay switched off and prompt you to record your voice first. There is no generic stock narrator for this feature. You also need an active subscription to generate.
Two ways to add audio
You can add audio one post at a time, or let it happen automatically as you publish.
Generate audio for a single post
When you publish an article from its Creations entry, TrueTone offers to create the audio version at the same time. If the post has no audio yet, you are asked whether to generate it; if you edited a post that already had audio, you are asked whether to refresh it. The prompt never blocks publishing, so you can always publish and skip the audio. Choose to generate and the recording starts in the background. You can also start or retry generation later from the post’s Audio version card.
Turn on automatic audio
On the Blog Management screen, under Website then Blog, is a toggle called Auto-generate audio versions. Switch it on and every article you publish from then on gets an audio version created automatically, with no extra click, still at 8 credits per post. That includes scheduled posts: when a scheduled post goes live, its audio is generated and charged the same way. When automatic audio is on, TrueTone stops asking you at publish time, since your answer is already yes. The toggle stays disabled until you have recorded your voice.
Wait a couple of minutes
Full-article narration takes a few minutes to produce, so generation runs in the background while you carry on. When it finishes, the player appears on the post’s page on your live site, and the post’s card in Blog Management shows the audio as ready.
What it costs
Each audio version costs a flat 8 credits, whether you generate it manually or through the automatic setting. Pricing does not change with the length of the article.
The 8 credits come from the same balance you use for the rest of your content, so blog audio draws on your plan’s monthly credits and any top-ups just like generating a blog post or a video does.
Generation is charged once per version of an article. If you generate audio, then generate it again for the exact same unchanged article, TrueTone recognizes it and does not charge you a second time. If you edit the article and then generate again, that counts as a new version and is billed as a fresh 8 credits, because the words being read have changed.
When an article changes after its audio was made, the existing recording is flagged as out of date. The next time you publish that post, TrueTone offers to refresh the audio so the recording matches the current text.
What visitors see
On the live post, readers see a simple player once the audio is ready. Nothing appears while a recording is still processing, and there is no button that lets a visitor kick off a generation. Everything that costs credits happens only from your side, inside TrueTone.
Good to know and limits
Automatic audio covers scheduled posts too. When a scheduled post goes live, it is treated exactly like a post you publish by hand: if the automatic setting is on at that moment, the audio version is generated in the background and billed at the same 8 credits. If you want a scheduled post to go live without audio, turn the automatic setting off before its publish time, then generate audio for individual posts from their Audio version cards whenever you choose.
A few more things worth knowing:
- Unusually long articles may be too long for an audio version. Standard blog-length posts are well within range; if a post is over the limit, the audio option is simply not offered for it.
- Visitors only ever see the finished player. They cannot start a generation, so no reader can spend your credits by clicking play.
- A post with no featured image cannot be published, and audio follows publishing, so add the image first.
- The automatic setting only affects posts you publish after you turn it on. It does not go back and add audio to posts that are already live.
- Turning the automatic setting back off simply stops future posts from generating audio. It does not remove or change the recordings you already made.
- Each recording is one continuous take in a single voice, so it plays as a clean, uninterrupted listen rather than a set of separate clips.
- Generation runs in the background and can take a few minutes, so the player will not appear the instant you publish. Give it a moment and refresh.
- If a recording fails to start, you are told so and can try again from the post’s Audio version card without losing your place.
