Reviewing pieces

When a loan officer sends a piece to compliance, it lands in your queue with the exact words they sent, the lines the check flagged, and the check’s history. You decide; the loan officer is told right away.

The queue

Open Compliance, then Reviews. Pieces are listed oldest first.

  • Waiting for you holds pieces assigned to you. You also get an email when a loan officer sends you a piece.
  • Waiting on your team holds pieces assigned to your teammates. Use Assign to pass any of them to someone else, yourself included.
  • All reviews is the archive, with each piece’s status: Waiting, Accepted, Changes requested, Rejected, or Closed without a decision.

How it works

Read the piece

You see the piece as it was sent, with flagged words underlined. Under Flagged lines, each line shows whether it is Blocking or a Warning, the reason, and whether the loan officer kept it. Why? shows the regulation quote, its citation, and a Read the rule link. Check history lists every check the piece had.

When a piece was caught at share, schedule or export, these are the exact words the loan officer was about to post. Accept or reject them as they stand.

Leave notes

Select words and choose Add a note. Say why, and optionally how to write it instead. Notes are what a loan officer works from when you request changes.

Decide

ChoiceWhat happens
AcceptThe loan officer is told. Depending on your company’s release setting, it can be posted now, or an org admin releases it first.
Request changesOffered once you have notes. The loan officer changes the noted words and sends it back to you.
Edit the wordsYou change the words yourself and accept them. See below.
RejectYou say why. The loan officer is told why, and the piece cannot be posted.

Editing the words yourself

For a social post or a blog sent from its editor, with no notes on it, you can choose Edit the words. Make your changes, answer “What did you change, and why?”, and choose Accept with your edits. Each change is recorded as a note, the decision records the exact corrected words, and the piece is saved with your wording. The loan officer is told you edited and accepted it.

Good to know

⚠️

Your decision covers the exact words you reviewed. If the loan officer changes an accepted piece, it cannot go out until it is sent back to you.

  • Accepting is not legal approval, and it is not the same as releasing. Release stays with your company: by policy, or by an org admin. See Releasing accepted pieces.
  • You never decide your own piece. Another Compliance Admin on your team does.
